I love my job! Each day, I look forward to the opportunity to provide orthodontic care to the patients and families of the communities I serve.
I was born and raised in the South Hills of Pittsburgh where my parents instilled the values of the “Golden Rule” and helping others in my sisters and me. I am grateful to my wife, parents, family, and mentors for providing me with the support and opportunity to become an orthodontist.
I am a graduate of Baldwin High School, Bethany College, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation from dental school, I was inducted into the prestigious dental honorary society, OKU. I completed a general practice residency at Montefiore Hospital in Pittsburgh, during which I focused on surgical orthodontics. Finally, I completed my orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine.
I was invited to become a faculty member at University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine 2001 as an associate clinical professor. This appointment provides the environment for continued educational growth and the opportunity to collaborate with other exceptional dental specialists. As a result, I have a network of dental professionals to assist me in providing exceptional care to you, the patients of Signature Orthodontics.
I have been married to my best friend and wife for more than 30 years. We have three adult sons and a dog. When I’m not at work, I enjoy family time, cooking, cycling, running, traveling, and being with friends.

I love going to work everyday to get to know all the people I see as we embark on a smile journey together.
I was born in Taiwan and grew up in the Bay Area in sunny California. My parents provided my siblings and I the opportunities they never had. They taught me to work hard, strive for excellence, and never forget those who’ve helped me along the way.
After high school, I went on to pursue higher education at UCLA and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation from dental school, I was inducted into the prestigious honorary dental society, OKU. After dental school graduation, I completed a general practice residency with the Veteran Affairs at Mare Island, California. After which I worked for a year in general dentistry. I then returned to Pittsburgh to study for my orthodontic certificate and master of dental science degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. I am also board certified with the American Board of Orthodontics.
My husband and I met during dental school. He is the greatest supporter and best friend in my life. We currently have a scaredy cat, Max, but we hope to expand our family with children and a dog in the near future. During our free time, we enjoy cooking, spending time with friends and family, and being outdoors.

I have been looking forward to becoming an orthodontist since I went through my own treatment as a teenager. Being able to provide my community with warm, confident smiles is my passion, and I genuinely look forward to our upcoming smile journey together.
I was born and raised in Washington, PA, and attended Trinity High School. By working with my father in his construction business and through my participation in varsity athletics, I quickly learned the beauty of perseverance, hard work, and caring for others. After high school, I attended Allegheny College where I majored in chemistry and graduated Magna Cum Laude. However, being away from Pittsburgh during those four years definitely showed me what I was missing: home. I moved back to the city of champions and attended The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Through hard work and great friendships, I graduated in the top of my class and was inducted into OKU, a prestigious dental honor society.
My Orthodontic Residency also occurred at the University of Pittsburgh. I had the privilege of learning from faculty like Dr. Mortimer that grounded their treatments in ethics, esthetics, and compassion that always put the patient first. Upon graduating from my residency program in 2022, I also earned my Masters in Dental Science through my research exploring the benefits of maxillary expansion in pediatric patients with sleep disordered breathing.
I am happily married to my loving wife Dejana. We hope to one day start our own family in this community. When we aren’t working, Dejana and I like to play tennis and board games, spend time with our families, and pretend to be chefs in the kitchen.
